Reiseinformasjon. Lysefjorden is the first major fjord of the Fjord Norway region. The area is strategically well located in close proximity to Stavanger, which is a main city for ferry traffic from the continent, railway connections and Sola International Airport.


Travelling information

Lysefjorden is located in Ryfylke, with Stavanger as the nearest major city. The fjord is 40 km long and 422 meters at its deapest.

If you want collective transport or if you drive by car Stavanger is a natural gateway for many, but if you come from the East or from the Bergen area, there are other more natural gateways. We will try to provide the best possible information on how to locate the Lysefjord and all our attractions.


Buy a fjordhopping ticket and jump on and off the ferry and tourist combiboat as you want. 3-day tickets with unlimited use.
The ticket is available during the summer while tourist ferry is on, and is sold on board the boats, in question.

In the summer: THE TOURIST FERRY

A guided tour on the tourist ferry on the 42 km long Lysefjord is the ultimate experience of the fjord. The trip is filled with experiences as the Preikestolen, "Fantahålå", waterfalls, goats, seals, idyllic islands and stunning scenery. Bring your own car or travel by public transport.
